How can we make more effective social entrepreneurs? Daniela Papi Thornton thinks that we can do this by changing the way we teach social entrepreneurs how to build businesses, and change the way we think about creating social impact. Rather than approaching social impact and entrepreneurship from a make-money-fast perspective, we should instead look at the entire system that is flawed and think more about what we as individuals can do to change the system and fix it. She suggests that teaching young entrepreneurs how to be open to new ideas and innovative ways of modifying flawed social systems will be more effective than simply having them come up with one great business idea that they stick to the entire time they are in business. The attached report also gives information on how to change systems rather than simply building business.
